What to do:
  • Apply to OHSAA between Dec 15 and Jan 15; here.
  • You will receive the rule and case books
  • You take the online test between Jan 15 and Feb 15
  • Complete the Concussion Training.  In the left frame, click "Paperwork" to see links.
  • Attend local meetings; Click "Meetings" in the left frame.

What you need

  • A uniform shirt with OHSAA logo; a list of authorized dealers is here.
  • Black pants or shorts
  • Black shoes; you may not need these
  • Always have your rule book with you.

What you may need

  • rain and/or cold weather gear
  • boots
  • hat or ball cap

  • yellow and white flags
    • Umpires are usually only used at very large meets including the tournament
    • The meet location and other officials will have spare flags
  • pad of paper and pen

High Jump

Long Jump

  • a straightedge about 3ft long

  • a starter's pistol
